Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I want to draw the attention of the authorities towards wasting large sums of money in arranging the beauty contests.

We are all aware that in our country, such a large part of population lives below the poverty line, who are not even able to make both ends meet or arrange for their education, job and medical facilities. Therefore, there is no use od arranging such contests, where millions are wasted extravagantly by the governments in organizing such contests.

This is a sheer wastage of money, which could have been utilized in the development projects which can give more fruitful results.The authorities should seriously ponder over this wastage of national money on the Miss Universe and other such contests and try to do away with them in future.
